Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Rockets have hired Kevin McHale as their new head coach. McHale was chosen over Celtics assistant and former Nets head coach Lawrence Frank and Mavericks assistant coach Dwane Casey after the firing of previous head coach Rick Adelman. McHale has served as an NBA analyst for TNT this season, was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996, and has previously served as general manager of the Timberwolves; going 39-55 in two separate stints as interim head coach.
